Gelista’s Most Luxurious and Innovative Gelati Product

Adelaide’s own artisan gelati maker Gelista, which has become synonymous with innovation and excellence, is poised to launch its most luxurious and innovative gelati product to date. Pre-released at the Royal Adelaide Show, Gelista was showing off the new product that can only be described as extravagance on a stick.

Gelista entered the luxury dessert stick segment in March this year with a range of two choc-coated gelati sticks, a traditional Vanilla Bean and a Lightly Salted Caramel Macadamia. Both have been highly successful for the family-owned business based in Adelaide’s inner suburb of Ridleyton. The latest addition is a pistachio gelati in a chocolate with kataifi coating.

“The idea for this product came to me as a result of two separate observations on my research trips to Europe”, says Gelista founder Peter Cox.

“First, I observed that extremely high-quality pistachio was being used in hyper-luxury gelatos in Europe. This was a driver for me to find the best source of pistachio anywhere to upgrade our gelati offering to be indisputably world class.

“With the Gulf States in the Middle East being a key transit route between Australia and Europe, I then became aware of how they were combining kataifi and pistachio with chocolate there to make a most lavish and delicious local delicacy. The combination of these observations led to what I believe is a first in Australia if not in the world.”

The quality of the Gelista Pistachio gelati was confirmed with the success of its 2024 launch in the classic 570mL consumer take home jar. Food critics were amazed and the support from retail buyers unprecedented as the flavour quickly shot up the popularity rankings within the company. Peter knew that the quality was exceptional. The launch of the (Pistachio coated in milk choc & kataifi) stick products will be the ultimate expression of the pistachio flavour experience.

The Gelista (Pistachio coated in milk choc & kataifi) sticks are available for sales as individual items from impulse freezers and available in a take home multi pack as a family treat. Initially launched through our most supportive independent premium food stores, the Gelista (Pistachio coated in milk choc & kataifi) sticks are beginning to appear in supermarkets and convenience stores across the country.
